Artificial Intelligence Class IX (Student Support Material 2025-26)
Section A – Communication Skills (Description)
Communication skills are one of the most important abilities students must develop in school and in their future careers. Communication refers to the process of sharing ideas, information, thoughts, and feelings between two or more people in a meaningful way. Good communication helps people understand each other, build strong relationships, and work together effectively in both personal and professional environments.
In everyday life, communication happens through many forms such as speaking, writing, gestures, facial expressions, and visual signals. Communication can be broadly divided into verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and visual communication. Verbal communication includes spoken and written language such as speeches, conversations, emails, and letters. Non-verbal communication includes body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, gestures, and eye contact. Visual communication includes images, charts, graphs, and symbols used to convey information clearly.
An important concept in communication is the communication cycle. The communication cycle includes several components such as sender, message, encoding, channel, receiver, decoding, and feedback. The sender is the person who sends the message, while the receiver is the person who receives and interprets it. Feedback helps the sender understand whether the message was understood correctly or not.
Communication may sometimes face barriers that prevent the message from being understood properly. These barriers can include language differences, emotional states, cultural differences, past experiences, environmental noise, or personal attitudes. To overcome these barriers, people should practice active listening, speak clearly, and use simple language.
Effective communication also includes strong writing skills. Writing skills involve constructing sentences, organizing paragraphs, and using proper grammar. Students must learn sentence types such as declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences. Understanding parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and conjunctions also helps in improving writing skills.

Section B – Self-Management Skills (Description)
Self-management refers to the ability to control and manage one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in different situations. It is an important life skill that helps students develop discipline, confidence, and responsibility. Self-management enables individuals to handle challenges, set goals, and achieve success in both academic and personal life.
One of the key aspects of self-management is self-awareness. Self-awareness means understanding your own strengths, weaknesses, interests, and abilities. When students know their strengths, they can use them to achieve their goals. Similarly, recognizing weaknesses helps them improve and grow.
Another important aspect of self-management is self-confidence. Self-confidence means believing in your abilities and trusting yourself to complete tasks successfully. People with strong self-confidence are not afraid to take challenges and learn from failures. Self-confidence can be developed through hard work, positive thinking, and continuous learning.
Positive thinking is also a major component of self-management. Positive thinking encourages individuals to focus on solutions rather than problems. When people maintain a positive attitude, they are more likely to overcome difficulties and stay motivated. Positive thinking helps improve mental health and overall well-being.
Time management is another important skill included in self-management. Time management involves planning and organizing tasks effectively so that work can be completed on time. Students who manage their time properly can balance their studies, hobbies, and personal activities.
Personal hygiene and grooming are also part of self-management. Maintaining cleanliness, wearing neat clothes, and presenting oneself properly create a positive impression and help maintain good health.

ICT plays a very important role in modern life because it helps people communicate, learn, and work more efficiently.
ICT is widely used in education, business, healthcare, and many other sectors. In education, ICT helps students access online learning resources, digital textbooks, and virtual classrooms. Teachers use ICT tools to present lessons through multimedia presentations, videos, and online platforms.
A computer system consists of several important components such as input devices, output devices, the central processing unit (CPU), and memory. Input devices include keyboard, mouse, microphone, and scanner. Output devices include monitor, printer, and speakers. The CPU acts as the brain of the computer and processes all instructions given to the system.
Computer memory includes RAM and ROM. RAM stores data temporarily and loses data when the computer is switched off. ROM stores data permanently and is used to store essential instructions required to start the computer.
The internet is one of the most important ICT tools. It allows people to search for information, communicate through emails and social media, and access various online services. Internet browsers such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox help users access websites easily. Email is another important ICT tool that allows people to send messages and files instantly to anyone across the world.
