What’s Going On: Big Update for ALP Aspirants
If you’ve applied for RRB ALP 2025 and passed earlier stages, you’ll be glad to know that the Railway Recruitment Board has now released dates and information for Document Verification (DV) and the Medical Examination. This is a critical step. It means you’re moving closer to getting the job. But it also means you must prepare carefully — one mistake can cost your chance.

The Big Picture: Where You Are in the Process
Let’s first see the recruitment journey:
Apply online
CBT 1 → screening exam
CBT 2 → more advanced
CBAT (Aptitude / Psychometric test)
Document Verification (DV)
Medical Examination
Final selection & posting
You’re now entering steps 5 and 6. Clearing DV and medical means you can be selected (if all is well).
Why DV & Medical Are Very Important
Document Verification (DV) is when officials check all your papers — educational certificates, identity proofs, caste certificates (if applicable), and more — to confirm that what you claimed is true. If something is wrong, incomplete, or false, you may be disqualified even if you passed the earlier exams.
Medical Examination is to make sure you are physically and mentally fit for the Assistant Loco Pilot job. The job will demand alertness, good health, vision, hearing, and more. If you don’t meet those standards, your recruitment will stop here.
So these steps are not just formalities — they are real tests.
What the Official Notice Says
From the official RRB ALP notification (CEN 01/2025):
You must bring original documents and copies for DV.
Your OBC-NCL certificate (if applicable) must be in the prescribed format and valid on the date of DV.
The medical exam standards will be as prescribed (A-1 medical standard for ALP).
Only candidates who clear DV will be allowed to proceed to the medical exam.
The notice also reminds that different RRB zones may have slightly different schedules or venue rules, so always check your zone’s official site.
Key Dates You Should Know
Here are some related dates and updates:
The CBAT exam (aptitude test) was earlier scheduled for 15 July 2025.
Because of technical issues or administrative reasons, RRB has scheduled a re-exam for CBAT on 31 August 2025.
The CBAT city intimation slips and admit cards will be released some days before, usually 10 days for city slip and 4 days for admit card.
DV & Medical exam dates are now out (for eligible candidates). (As announced in notice)
RRB extended the last date to apply up to 19 May 2025.
Documents You’ll Need for DV
To pass DV, be ready with:
Admit Card / Call Letter for DV
Original educational certificates (10th, ITI / Diploma / Degree etc.)
Birth certificate or proof of age
Identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)
Caste certificate / category certificate (if you claimed SC / ST / OBC / EWS)
Recent photographs (as per application)
Medical certificates (if asked)
Disability certificate (if applying under special quota)
Any other proof the RRB zone asks for
Make sure they are genuine, clean, readable, and in order.
What Happens During Document Verification
On DV day, here’s how it generally goes:
You arrive at the venue at the appointed time
You submit your originals and photocopies
Officials check and verify each paper
They may ask you to clarify something
If everything matches, you pass DV
If there’s any mismatch or missing paper, you may be disqualified
Remember: the DV is very strict. There’s no room for wrong or fake documents.
What the Medical Exam Involves
The medical exam usually includes:
General health check (blood pressure, physical fitness)
Eyesight / vision test
Hearing / ear test
Other physical tests (as per medical standards for ALP)
If any of these fail (for example, poor eyesight, hearing issue), you may not pass and your selection stops there.
It’s good to get a medical checkup before your official exam so you know where you stand and can fix minor issues.
Tips to Be Fully Prepared
Here are tips to maximize your chances:
Sort documents early — don’t wait till last minute
Make extra photocopies and keep originals separately
If any certificate is missing or expected, arrange it before DV
Visit a doctor ahead of time to check eyesight, hearing, etc.
Stay fit — eat good, sleep well, maintain your health
Keep checking the RRB zone website for updates, schedule changes, or new instructions
Be on time, dress decently, carry only what’s needed
Be honest — never submit fake or forged documents

You may have to complete joining formalities
If you don’t pass:
You lose your chance
No further stages for you
Common Questions & Doubts
Q: What if I miss the DV date?
A: If you miss your slot without a valid reason, you may be disqualified.
Q: Can I correct a document during DV?
A: Sometimes minor corrections are allowed, but don’t count on it. Better to have everything ready.
Q: What if my health is just slightly off?
A: Minor health issues (if correctable) you might fix beforehand. If seriously not meeting standards, it’s risky.
Q: Will DV & medical dates be same for all RRB zones?
A: Not always — each zone may have its own schedule and venue.
Q: Do I have to bring original documents only?
A: Yes, original + self-attested copies. Originals are for verification; copies stay with RRB.
Final Words
This stage is your test of authenticity and fitness. You’ve already cleared the exams, shown your knowledge, and worked hard. Now DV & medical are your last hurdles. Prepare well, double-check your papers, stay healthy, and stay updated.
You can do it — many before you have passed. With focus, honesty, and determination, you can clear DV and medical and make it to the finish line. Best of luck to you!
