a. Difference Between Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)
AR: Overlays digital content on the real world (e.g., filters, navigation).
VR: Fully immersive virtual environment replacing the real world.
AR enhances reality, VR replaces reality.
b. Role of Immersion in Virtual Reality
Immersion refers to how deeply a user feels involved in a virtual environment.
Higher immersion improves realism, presence, and user engagement.
c. Spatial Mapping in AR
Spatial mapping is the process of scanning and understanding the physical environment so that virtual objects can be placed accurately in real-world space.
d. User Presence in VR
User presence is the psychological feeling of “being there” inside a virtual environment, achieved through visuals, sound, interaction, and motion tracking.
e. Two Key Features of Unity Used in AR/VR Cross-platform development
Real-time rendering with physics engine
f. Field of View (FoV) in AR/VR Headsets
FoV is the extent of the observable virtual environment visible at a given moment.
Larger FoV increases immersion.
g. Mixed Reality Continuum
The Mixed Reality Continuum describes the range between the real environment and a fully virtual environment, including AR and MR.

Marker-Based AR: Uses QR codes or images as reference points.
Markerless AR: Uses GPS, sensors, and spatial mapping.
Example: QR-based apps vs AR navigation apps.
e. Enhancing Interactivity in AR Environment
Interactivity is improved using gesture recognition, voice commands, haptic feedback, and AI-based object interaction.
