(SEM I) THEORY EXAMINATION 2022-23 Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering

This question paper evaluates foundational knowledge of mechanics, IC engines, refrigeration, thermodynamics, hydraulics, hybrid vehicles, fluid mechanics, and basic measurement systems.
Students may answer in English, Hindi, or a mixed language.

SECTION B — Descriptive Questions (Attempt any 3) — 7 × 3 = 21 Marks

This section focuses on explanation, diagrams, and engineering reasoning.

Detailed curve with points like:

Pressure Types: Absolute, Gauge & Vacuum + Manometer Numerical

Calculate absolute pressure using specific gravity and height of column.

Seebeck Effect & Thermocouples

Includes advantages and disadvantages.

This section checks drawing skills, descriptive ability, and understanding of physical principles.

SECTION C — Long Answer / Numerical / Application-Based Questions
