B.Tech (Semester II) Theory Examination 2024–25
Maximum Marks: 70 | Time: 3 Hours
This question paper evaluates fundamental and advanced understanding of Soft Skills, focusing on communication abilities, personality development, professional etiquette, leadership, reading & writing skills, stress management, and public speaking.
The paper is systematically divided into three sections: A, B, and C, testing conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and practical application of soft skills.
SECTION A — Short Answer Questions (14 Marks | 2 × 7)
This section tests basic definitions, concepts, and short explanations.
Topics include:
Antonyms of common vocabulary
Syllables and pronunciation concepts
Inductive vs. Deductive methods
Presentation nervousness control techniques
Meaning of resilience
Intensive vs. extensive reading
Effects of eustress & distress on performance
These questions evaluate foundational soft skills knowledge.
SECTION B — Descriptive Questions (21 Marks | Attempt Any 3)
This section requires detailed explanation, evaluation, and description related to communication and behavioral skills.
Topics covered:
Subject–verb agreement and grammar rules
Role of a good listener in effective communication
Importance of accurate agenda, notice & minutes in meetings
Modes of speech delivery with advantages & limitations
Leadership qualities and their role in organizational success
These questions assess understanding of communication frameworks, leadership traits, and professional behavior.
SECTION C — Long Answer Questions (35 Marks | 7 Marks Each)
This section includes analytical, application-based, and problem-solving questions.
Q3 — Word Formation / Grammar Application
Choose any one:
Detailed analysis of word formation processes (prefix, suffix, compounding, blending, etc.)
Grammar-based question set: sentence transformation, subject-verb agreement, prefixes/suffixes
Q4 — Note-Taking / Pronunciation Skills

Techniques to improve English pronunciation and how it enhances fluency
Q5 — Business Communication / Reading Skills
Choose any one:
Importance of business letter-writing principles
Reading techniques: skimming, scanning, churning, assimilation
Q6 — Kinesics / Public Speaking
Choose any one:
Non-verbal communication through body language (kinesics)
Application of confidence, clarity, and fluency in public speaking
Q7 — Leadership / Stress Management
Choose any one:
Impact of a leader's listening & responding skills on team performance
Definition of stress and justification of the effective 4A's technique (Avoid, Alter, Adapt, Accept)
