(SEM II) THEORY EXAMINATION 2024-25 FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
B.Tech (Semester II) Theory Examination 2024–25
Maximum Marks: 70 | Time: 3 Hours
Medium: Hindi / English / Mixed
This question paper evaluates students’ understanding of basic electronic devices, circuit analysis, digital electronics, and communication systems. It covers theoretical concepts, numerical analysis, circuit diagrams, logical reasoning, and Boolean simplification.
The paper is divided into three sections: A, B, and C, containing short, descriptive, and analytical questions.
SECTION A – Short Answer Questions (14 Marks | 7 × 2)
This section tests basic theoretical understanding and definitions.
Topics include:
Avalanche vs Zener breakdown
Pinch-off voltage in JFET
Op-amp input stage & differential amplifier
CMRR meaning & importance in instrumentation
NAND as universal gate & NOT implementation
1’s and 2’s complement
Frequency reuse in wireless systems
Focus: Concepts, definitions, comparison, short reasoning.
SECTION B – Descriptive Questions (21 Marks | Attempt Any 3)
This section checks conceptual clarity, diagrams, and analytical explanation.
Topics include:
PN junction formation + depletion width derivation
BJT construction, working, CE characteristics
Op-amp IC 741 diagram + equivalent circuit
Difference between POS & SOP + SOP conversion
Block diagram of communication system
Focus on illustrating concepts with diagrams and formulas.
SECTION C – Long Answer / Analytical Questions (35 Marks | 5 Questions, 7 Marks Each)
Application-based, numerical, derivation, and circuit-analysis questions.
Q3 — Rectifiers & Waveforms
Choose one:
Half-wave vs full-wave rectifier comparison + average/RMS current derivations
