THEORY EXAMINATION (SEM–VIII) 2016-17 AUTOMATION & ROBOTICS

Section A 

Section A contains short and basic questions that test fundamental concepts of automation and robotics. Students need to give brief definitions, list features, and explain basic robotic terms such as kinematics, robot vision, adaptive control, and joints. These questions check basic theoretical knowledge of robotics.

Section B 

Section B includes medium-length questions that require detailed explanations of robot systems, programming, sensors, and power sources. Students must describe robotic components, coordinate systems, and working principles. This section tests conceptual understanding and practical knowledge.

Explain levels of robot programming.

Differentiate internal and external sensors.

Section C 

Section C contains long and advanced questions that require detailed explanations, diagrams, and analysis. Students must explain control systems, robot mechanisms, and evaluation factors. This section evaluates deeper knowledge and analytical skills.

Differentiate feedback control and adaptive control.

Explain working of wrist mechanism with sketch.

Discuss factors for evaluating robot welding capability.
