(SEM II) THEORY EXAMINATION 2022-23 HUMAN VALUES & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
The Universal Human Values / Value Education Question Paper (2022–23) is designed to assess a student’s understanding of ethics, human behavior, harmony, relationships, responsibilities, and the holistic vision of life. Carrying a total of 80 marks, the paper is divided into three structured sections to examine conceptual clarity, reflective thinking, and the ability to apply principles of human values to real-life situations.
The exam begins with Section A, a set of short-answer questions aimed at evaluating fundamental concepts such as ethics, right utilization of the body, natural acceptance, wealth, co-existence, and meanings of SVDD & SSDD. Students also answer questions about pre-conditioning, Sanyam (self-regulation), holistic technology, and the difference between units and space. These questions check clarity of basic understanding of human conduct and the nature of living.
Section B includes descriptive questions requiring deeper explanation and analytical writing. Students may discuss self-exploration, the basic requirements to fulfill human aspirations, the distinction between human and animal consciousness, and the role of Shiksha and Sanskar in uplifting human behavior. They may also explain the four orders of nature—material, plant/bio, animal, and human—and the concepts of utility and artistic value in everyday life. This section tests a student’s reflective thinking and understanding of harmony at individual, family, society, and nature levels.
Section C contains long-answer, application-based questions where students must demonstrate their reasoning and comprehensive understanding. Questions include explaining the need for value education, identifying real-life problems at individual, family, societal, and environmental levels, describing the activities of Desire, Thought, and Expectation in the self, and the relationship between self and body. Further questions explore family values, values that build good relationships, characteristics of animal vs. human order, recyclability and self-regulation in nature, the meaning of profession, and criteria for holistic technologies.
Overall, this question paper encourages deep reflection on life, relationships, ethics, responsibility, and harmonious living. It helps students develop a balanced perspective, moral understanding, and a holistic approach toward personal growth, professional ethics, and societal well-being. The structure of the examination ensures that learners not only understand theoretical concepts but also learn to apply them meaningfully in day-to-day life.
