(SEM III) THEORY EXAMINATION 2021-22 HUMAN VALUES & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
This is the B.Tech Semester III examination paper for Human Values & Professional Ethics (AUC001).
The exam carries 50 marks and focuses on understanding ethical human conduct, value-based living, harmony, relationships, and self-exploration. The structure of the paper ensures that students reflect on human behavior, responsibilities, and values necessary for a meaningful professional and personal life.
The paper is divided into three major sections — A, B, and C, each aimed at testing conceptual understanding, explanation ability, and reasoning.
SECTION A – Short Conceptual Questions (10 Marks)
This section contains 10 fill-in-the-blank or short questions (1 mark each).
They cover essential foundations of human values:
Foundation value in relationships
Four orders of nature
Complete value in relationships
Composition activity of material order
Recyclability in nature
Two domains of education
Implications of value education
Meaning of animal consciousness
Meaning of human consciousness
Human being as coexistence of Self and Body
These questions test basic recall and understanding of the core principles taught in Human Values.
SECTION B – Short Descriptive Questions (15 Marks)
Students must attempt any three questions (each 5 marks).
Topics include:
Meaning of happiness and prosperity
Basic aspirations of a human being
Characteristics of mutual happiness
Detailed explanation of physical order
Feelings of care and guidance
This section evaluates a student’s ability to explain value-based concepts, understand relationships, and differentiate human needs.
SECTION C – Long Answer Questions (25 Marks)
This section has five groups (Q3 to Q7), each containing two alternatives, and students must attempt one from each group.
Q3 – Human Goals
Categories of persons based on happiness & prosperity
OR importance of self-exploration
Q4 – Needs of Self vs Body
Difference between needs of self and needs of body
OR body as an instrument of self
Q5 – Harmony
Harmony at different levels of living
OR difference between intention and competence
Q6 – Relationship
Role of physical facilities in fulfilling relationships
OR difference between respect, glory, and reverence
Q7 – Nature & Bio-order
Natural characteristics of the four orders
OR inheritance of the bio-order
This section tests deep understanding, reasoning, and the ability to apply values to real-life thinking.
