(SEM III) THEORY EXAMINATION 2021-22 UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES
This is the B.Tech Semester III theory examination paper for Universal Human Values (UHV).
The exam carries 100 marks and focuses on evaluating a student’s understanding of:
Human behaviour
Value-based living
Harmony in self, family, society, and nature
Ethical competence
Human consciousness vs animal consciousness
Relationship values
Education–Sanskar
Professional ethics
The paper is divided into three major sections – A, B, and C, covering conceptual, descriptive, and reflective questions.
SECTION A – Short Answer Questions (20 Marks)
This section contains 10 questions of 2 marks each, checking essential foundational understanding:
Two domains of education
Relationship between values & ethics
Four levels of living
Definite response of body
Types of disrespect
Foundation & complete value of relationship
Four orders in nature
Cyclic processes in nature
Five dimensions of human order
Outcome of harmony with whole existence
These questions test basic definitions, value concepts, and harmony principles.
SECTION B – Descriptive Questions (30 Marks)
Students must attempt any three out of five questions. Topics include:
Process of Value Education
Its purpose, need, and steps.
Definite vs. Indefinite Response of Self
Examples showing clarity vs confusion.
Role of Physical Facilities in Relationships
Difference between bodily needs and relationship fulfilment.
Activities of the Animal Order
Contrasting instinct-driven behaviour with human behaviour.
Salient Features of Ethical Competence
Understanding, intention, and commitment towards right decisions.
This section evaluates explanation skills, clarity of concepts, and reasoning.
SECTION C – Long, Reflective & Analytical Questions (50 Marks)
There are five main questions (Q3–Q7), each with two alternatives, and students must attempt one from each.
Q3 – Self Exploration / Consciousness
Detailed process of self-exploration
OR
Difference between human consciousness & animal consciousness
Q4 – Self-Regulation & Health / Human Being vs Body
Meaning of self-regulation & its link with holistic health
OR
How “Human Being = Body” assumption causes deprivation
Q5 – Family Harmony / Social Harmony
Meaning of affection & its importance in family
OR
Building block of harmony in society
Q6 – Education–Sanskar / Dependency on Nature
Significance of Education–Sanskar
OR
Human dependence on other three orders of nature
Q7 – Professional Ethics / Universal Order
Resolving current issues in professional ethics
OR
Holistic approach & universal human order in detail
These questions measure deep understanding, ethical reasoning, value-based thinking, and holistic worldview.
