(SEM-III) THEORY EXAMINATION 2018-19 UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS

Section B — Analytical, Descriptive & Application-Based Questions
Section B consists of longer descriptive questions (7 × 3 = 21 marks). These questions require deeper thinking, explanation, and the application of ethical concepts in professional and social scenarios.
The section includes questions on:
Writing a short note on the need for Value Education in today’s fast-paced technological and materialistic world.
Understanding the Universal Human Order, its structure, role, and implications in establishing harmony in society.
Explaining competence in professional ethics, including two real-life examples showcasing how competence and ethical responsibility must coexist.
Understanding Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, an important psychological model that explains human motivation and human behavior.
Briefly explaining the four orders in nature and their natural characteristics — material order, plant/bio order, animal order, and human order.
This section extends beyond definitions and encourages students to critically analyze modern problems, ethical dilemmas, and the need for holistic human development.
Section C — In-Depth Ethical Analysis & Practical Application
Section C requires students to attempt one long, detailed answer (7 marks). The difficulty level of this section is higher and aims to test both reasoning and understanding.
Students may be asked to:
Explain the process of self-exploration, which is central to value-based education.
Discuss ethical responsibilities in different professional roles.
Analyze complex situations involving truth, respect, trust, mutual happiness, and harmony.
This section ensures that students are not only theoretically knowledgeable but also capable of applying ethical principles to real-world circumstances.

This Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics (RVE-301) examination aims to measure a student’s ability to:
