The question paper for Engineering Mathematics IV (KAS-402) is designed to test a student’s understanding of advanced mathematical concepts through a combination of theoretical, analytical, and application-based questions. These questions demand deeper understanding and a strong command over both theory and procedural techniques.
Section C presents higher-order problem-solving challenges. It contains five sets of alternative questions, each requiring the student to choose and answer one part from each set. These questions explore advanced PDE solutions, vibrating string and heat-conduction problems, regression analysis and moments in statistics, conditional probability using transferred balls, Poisson distribution applications, and chi-square testing in genetics. The final problem also involves constructing mean and range charts for quality control. This section is structured to test the student’s ability to work with complex mathematical models, interpret statistical behaviors, and apply mathematical reasoning to physical situations and real-life data. The problems demand both analytical depth and clear interpretation.
