Key Topics to Prepare
Intelligent Database Systems (IDBS):
Integration of AI with DBMS
Knowledge-based querying
Adaptive and self-learning databases
LAMP Stack Setup:
Components (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
Configuration and backend–frontend connectivity
ODMG Standard: Object Data Management Group’s impact on OODBMS interoperability.
Active Databases: Event–condition–action (ECA) rules and triggers.
Deductive Databases: Logical inference and rule-based querying using DATALOG.
Knowledge-Based Systems: CYC, TELOS, and conceptual representation in knowledge engineering.
Temporal Databases: Time-dependent data and transaction management.
Multi-Agent Systems: Collaboration, negotiation, and open problem frameworks.
Study Tips
Understand core principles — focus on how AI concepts (rules, reasoning, learning) enhance database functionality.
Review SQL and DATALOG examples — write small code snippets.
Learn architecture diagrams — LAMP, Active DB, and Knowledge-based systems.
Prepare short notes on CYC, TELOS, and lexical knowledge base construction.
Revise challenges in multi-agent and temporal databases — often asked in long questions.
