Section B (Descriptive Questions – 30 Marks)

Students must attempt any three questions (10 marks each).

Differences between rough cost estimates and detailed estimates.

Concept and examples of Gantt charts.

Comparison between wheeled and crawler tractors.

Section C (Long Answer/Problem-Solving – 40 Marks)
 

Students attempt one question from each of Q3–Q7, each carrying 10 marks.

Rough Estimate by Cubical Content Method — using building plinth area, height, and various percentage allowances (water, electrification, contingency, etc.).

Preliminary Estimates and required documents.

Material and Labour Calculation for RCC slab.

Contract System Selection and concepts like SMD and retention money.

Network Diagram Analysis — finding EST, LST, float, critical path, and duration (diagram on page 2).

Hiring Cost of Bulldozer — including depreciation, fuel, oil, and maintenance calculations.

Ready-Mix Concrete Plant Diagram and explanation.

Depreciation by SOYD (Sum of Years’ Digits) Method and Equivalence Principle.
